The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop that we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills easily, leaving no trace that it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.
Its design is superior to the rest and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties, which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to removed dust, dirt, and hair from pets. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place instead of scattering it across the floor. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand which other robots can't. It did this without getting caught in our pet's hair.
The j7+, though not as intelligent as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's hard to determine whether the update is working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the ideal choice. These robots come with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also come with many additional features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but they often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our most loved robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not perform to the standards. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it doesn't have some of the features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs, which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many cheaper robot vacuums do not excel in. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb as well, with only a few missed corners and on walls.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled with a few buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas, alter your home map, or change the room's label.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also comes with an impressive LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, however it can help you easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is one of the most innovative in the market however it's quite expensive.
The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that does a really good job of cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of your home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.
Although it doesn't have as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price tag.
If you're looking to save money, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of other great choices available, including a lot of eufy models priced considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as stair climbing, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums that offer the perfect combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock close to an outlet for power and enough space to allow it to move around but.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact It can be tucked away under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is less flashy than some of the rival models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The way that the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it can't access. When click here for info needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning where it began.
The eufy G30 isn't without faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has similar battery life and is more effective on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be empty as often and comes with an array of boundaries to restrict it from certain areas. The G30 is, however, is more affordable and a lot simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
